REPORT ME ARIGHT PODCAST
If you found out you were fated to live out the plot of Shakespeare’s most famous tragedy, what would you do?
After the events of Hamlet, the character of Horatio is left with a task: tell Hamlet’s story. Of course, the telling of the story itself in a way restarts the players, retelling the events, fated to replicate the same tragedy, over, and over. How many times can Hamlet die in Horatio’s arms before the audience can look away?
In our podcast, the events of Hamlet have already happened- as they always have. Horatio is left to pick up the pieces, to let the world know. But what did happen at Elsinore? Did any of our players really have free will? Is there any possible way to change the plot? Horatio speaks to us as a modern college student, trying to keep the promise he made to his best friend as he died. But along the way, we find that things were not exactly as they seemed- not in our version of Hamlet’s house, not on Shakespeare’s stage, and certainly not in Denmark.
