who am i?
a freelance writer, editor, researcher, and tutor
I knew I wanted to be a writer from the time I was five years old. Storytelling has always been one of my biggest passions, and books were my best friends growing up as I struggled with a major anxiety disorder. Later, I found theatre, too, which gave me my voice. through those two, I found Shakespeare, who I picked up at the age of thirteen and haven’t put down since. I attended Emerson College from 2017-2021, focusing on fiction, literature, and poetry, earning my BFA in creative writing with a thesis project wherein I started work on a fantasy novel. I also was the Artistic Director of the Emerson Shakespeare Society, and directed a production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. During my senior year, I started TikTok to talk about Shakespeare, and ended up not only gaining 144k followers, but lifelong friends and talented collegues. Through a virtual production of Much Ado About Nothing, I met my partner, who played the Benedick to my Beatrice. From there, I moved to England, where I worked for two years on earning my Master’s in Shakespeare Studies from the Shakespeare Institute, University of Birmingham, located in Stratford-Upon-Avon. While there, I directed a production of Much Ado About Nothing, and graduated with a dissertation entitled ‘I DESIRE YOU DO ME RIGHT AND JUSTICE’: BETTER SERVING HISTORY THROUGH A RE-EXAMINATION OF SHAKESPEARE’S GENRE.’ Now, I’m working on several of my own creative projects- one fantasy pirate novel, one 1970’s mythological road trip novel, several tv series, a comic book series, and a poetry collection. I’m also a freelance writer, working on editing, revising, professional writing, script writing, blog posts, academic writing, and background research. On top of that, I’m a freelance tutor, teaching Shakespeare, literature, essay writing, creative writing, research skills, reading, and anything under that language arts umbrella. When I’m not writing or teaching, I love hanging out with my partner, our two cats, and our global network of friends and creative collaborators, spending time with my dad and brother, baking gluten-free treats, reading, traveling, and playing DnD with friends.
